Casa lia Sole is a beautiful house set alongside its own vineyard just a short drive from the old town of Aqui Terme (great little bars and restaurants). We visited with friends and family in August and had a fantastic week. The house has loads of space for a large gathering and is plenty big enough to be able to find a quiet corner or relax in the beautiful grounds. There’s a pizza oven outside for making fantastic homemade pizzas, a large swimming pool and terrace and plenty of space to sunbathe. The local wine from the adjoining vineyard is amazing and we would highly recommend it. There is a pool / games / activity room by the pool terrace, which is fantastic for the kids and also provides access directly to the upstairs bedrooms from the pool area.

I would highly recommend it for a family holiday and am looking forward to returning next summer to try more of the wonderful local food and wine.

We stayed at Casa Lia Sole in the summer of 2013 and it was one of the best breaks we’ve had as a family. The villa is beautiful and the views over the valley from the pool were just absolutely stunning. The kids loved the pool and the big space to play in front of the house, and round the back the seating area was the perfect place to eat in beautiful surroundings – especially pizza night using the pizza oven! Bedrooms all spacious and nicely decorated, living rooms comfy and cool for getting out of the sun (the room next to the pool was my favourite!). We spent most of our time relaxing, but popped into the local town a few times which was beautiful with cobbled streets and hot springs. Oh and as we expected food and wine in the area is simply to die for.

Couldn’t recommend Casa Lia Sole more!

I have stayed at Casa Lia Sole twice now and I am certain I will be back again. The location is dreamily stunning, up a long winding road (and then track) to a hill top vineyard with the most wonderful ever-changing views. The house itself has a lovely rustic feel and a wonderful farm house kitchen.

The living areas are cosy for nestling in on cooler nights and there’s a lovely outside area for alfresco dining (which is what we did most of the time). The pool is a good size for playing and swimming and has great views. We had loads of fun making pizza with the kids using the amazing outside oven and if we weren’t happy enough at the house with the pool and games on offer (and let’s not forget the very nice wine!), then we found there was plenty to do in the area.

Acqui is a delightful local town and together with nearby villages there are lots of fantastic restaurants and cafe’s catering it seems to the discerning Italian visitor rather than mass tourist market, so really good food. We stumbled into a lovely little food festival in a local village too. All in all, highly recommend Casa Lia Sole for any length of stay.
